When Self-Care Looks Like Putting One Foot in Front of the Other



Initially you may not notice the changes happening in you and through you. The signs may be so small, or look so similar to something you are already accustomed, that you’ll breeze right on through completely unaware. I know you want to see huge outcomes that you can point to and say “see, I’m doing soooo much better now.”

I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t always work like that. I promise you though that it’s 1000% happening. It’s not possible to continuously put one foot squarely in front of the other and not end up somewhere different eventually.


Keep committing to yourself. Keep taking action. Know that the love and care you are banking and saving will show up at just the right time. It’s there in the moments where you don’t have the reaction people are expecting. It’s there in the moments where your intuition says “no, girl“ and you listen. Sometimes it’s those small habits (One foot in front of the other. Repeat x 1000) that result in the largest payoff.

Exercise - Think of one thing you’ve been making small progress on. Be thankful for how far you have come.
